Moon Dog Lodge is a private home and service, we are not a facility. We greatly appreciate your sensitivity, understanding, and honoring of the times that have been set up for dog care services. Both A Dog’s Day and Lodging service starts in the morning only. This gives the appropriate time for social adjustment within our dog community. The morning is also an important time for physical release (exercise) for a happy well balanced fun filled day that in turn unfolds into a relaxed and peaceful evening for lodging dogs, the guardians, and dogs that return home after a day of ranch adventure and Moon Dog love.

Lodging (alternative boarding service) $110 per calendar day (20% off additional dog per calendar day) This service is a available seven days a week

Please note, lodging rate is by the calendar day. Families have the option to pick up their pups in the am or pm (see time frames below.) If you choose to pick up your pup during the morning time frame option there is a $25 charge (per dog) for am care for that morning portion of that calendar day. If you choose to pick up your pup during the pm time frame this equals a full calendar day rate.

Moon Dog is a private and intimate (small number capacity) dog care service which books up quickly. We encourage families to email us as soon as possible for lodging availability when inquiring about specific dates of interest during the summer months and holidays.

Inquiries-Reservations-Payments-Cancellations:

All inquiries are best sent to struttyourmutt@gmail.com. Lodging reservations and Dog Day scheduling are arranged after families have moved through our on ranch part of our orientation process. An orientation follow up is emailed out to new Moon Dog families sharing insight on their dogs orientation experience. This email also provides a final paperwork packet which includes details on reservations, payments and our cancelation policy.

All reservation bookings are invoiced and paid on online through a very simple system through our secure billing service. Because of Moon Dog’s limited space and the consistent demand for our exceptional dog care, we appreciate your understanding in committing to our payment and cancellation policies. In confirming one reservation another is excluded from this service.

Packing Your Pup’s Suitcase:

FOOD
Time away from the family pack can be a bit of an adjustment on dogs. Once the human suitcases come out at home and the packing begins there is often is an emotional stir in dogs that can cause the flora in their gut to go awry. This can reek havoc on the digestive system. Changing a dog’s food at this time can be very uncomfortable for their tummies and really make the start of your dog’s lodging experience rough for them and us. We want to minimize any bumps. Staying consistent with their home diet offers stability and comfort to their digestive system as they get settled in for their stay out at the ranch. We want their bodies (gut) to feel calm, relaxed and happy too!

Important to ALWAYS pack 3-4 days of EXTRA food, supplements, and medications for your dogs stay as travel can often be unpredictable for you with weather/airlines. Many of our families feed raw or home made diets, Moon Dog is fully set up to prep and properly store all our dog’s home meals.

LABEL

Please label all plastic food containers with your dog’s name. This helps us make sure all gets returned to you.

If your dog requires specific preparing of meals, medications, supplements, etc please provide a typed and printed (can be emailed) set of am, noon if needed, and pm instructions. This is extremely helpful in clarifying details with the Moon Dog Guardians of the care that is needed.

Please provide a measuring cup for your dog’s kibble. Can food lids with your dog’s name on them are always greatly appreciated.

STORAGE

If you will be feeding a raw diet or homemade meals it is important to pack these items as compact as possible. Please feel welcome to contact Inez via phone or email to correspond about any details, needs, or concerns. Moon Dog likes to be as environmentally friendly as possible. If you are able to avoid using plastic bags as much as possible this is a good thing all around! We encourage all our Moon Dog families to pack their dog’s items in reusable storage containers.

If your dog will be at Moon Dog for an extended amount of time please bring the proper amounts for all their meals, meds, supplements, plus 3-4 additional days of care. Once again, we have space to store these items 🙂

Important to note, if a “food run” is needed or medications or supplements run out Moon Dog can accomodate a pick up of these items for a fee of $35

MEDICATIONS/SUPPLEMENTS
Please make sure all medications and supplements have your dog’s name and doses are clearly noted (am, noon, pm). Please consolidate these items in a reusable container or large zip lock bag. This bag can be reused for future visits.

DOG BEDS, BLANKETS & “CAVES” (crates)
Your dog’s home bedding is extremely important. These items send messages of reassurance and comfort through family aromas that come from home. A dog’s nose is a powerful thing and the familiar scent of family is powerful at helping a dog relax and find joy just by simply having those smells of family close. This delivers a very loving message. There is no need to wash bedding as long as it is clean and presentable.

A dog’s crate, or “cave” as we like to refer to them are often wonderful sanctuaries for dogs. This is a traveling room from home for dogs that have been introduced to them properly through compassionate education (training.)  Dogs who are familiar with a crate structure recognize it as a positive, a comfort zone, a dog-pod cozy camper if you will. These dogs appreciate the ability to have this space and will use their cave when it feels good to them. Moon Dog encourages families to bring their dog’s crate as an option for their dog’s comfort. This way it is available at any time their dog wishes to utilize their own private lil snuggly nuk. Moon Dog is communal service. Dogs move freely and about the lodge and outside areas always with attended by a guardian(s.) We are not a traditional dog care service and therefore are not set up with crates, kennels, or runs for our pack.  All crates are provided by families for their dogs who see them as a sanctuarie. Crates storage is available if families do not wish to haul them back and forth at each visit.

DOG FOOD BOWL
Some dogs find great comfort in their dog bowl from home. We like to honor this as their food bowl (believe it or not) that a dog is familiar with can often give a great deal of encouragement to a dog to relax and stay healthy by eating regularly. Please make sure your dog’s name is on their bowl. If your dog is happy to eat out of any bowl, Moon Dog has plenty of stainless steel dog bowls for meal time.

Thank you for taking the time to read the above info. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us stay organized and functioning with efficiency.
